Edgemont holds a special place in Franklin’s heart for many reasons, including being the place where he grew up.

Franklin renovated the park in 2021 for $42,000 to attract more children.
“I was all around the city [playing basketball], but that park has a special place in my heart because as a kid I would be there all hours of the night shooting baskets in the dark,” said Franklin. “It groomed me. And it still does.”

The event will feature free food, ice cream, drinks, horseback riding, family activities, bounce houses, a magician, face painting, basketball and card game tournaments, educational exhibits, penny candy store, free haircuts from local barbershops, and music.
