The Handles Foundation recently organized the inaugural Edgemont Community Day in Susquehanna Township to pay tribute to one of the oldest and most cherished residents in Central Pennsylvania.

Esteemed Harlem Globetrotter, Chris “Handles” Franklin, served as the event’s host, dedicating it to the remarkable 104-year-old Helen Lester, fondly referred to as the “Queen of Edgemont.”

During the event, Franklin expressed the significance of bridging past and present, fostering intergenerational connections. He emphasized the rich local history, firmly believing in the collective effort required to nurture children. Franklin’s intention is to contribute to a strong sense of community, emphasizing the well-being of all youngsters.
